Welcome to the Zynk ideas forum. Please feel free to post any ideas into this forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Check/uncheck all tasks in Workflow Tasks pane

Would be useful when working on workflows with many tasks. e.g. I have a workflow with 50 tasks and disable all but 2 of them while debugging a particular section...to enable the entire workflow and test as a whole again I have to click 50 checkboxes.

      • When you rename a workflow property, automatically rename all of it's uses in the workflow

At the minute if you rename a workflow property, you need to manually go through and find all it's uses in the workflow and change them, otherwise you get errors.

        • Add more explicit error when file missing on XSLT transform

If the XSLT file is missing for an XSLT Transform task the error console currently reports "XSLT compile error". I think "Template file not found" or something more specific might be better.

          • Persist unused settings in input dialogues

When working with standard input dialogues during development I often find I'm switching between input types, e.g. I may "Use the following file" for a while then move to "Use the following text or script" or "Use a workflow variable..." when moving from a hardcoded value to a dynamic one.

It would be nice if, when unused inputs are "greyed out" the input within them was persisted once the dialogue is closed and between saves of the .wkf. Not a huge issue by any means but would make working on files at certain stages of development more convenient.

            • Add a quick way to bulk reset/change the "Last Ran" property for tasks

When creating & debugging workflows it's often helpful to "reset" the last ran time for tasks allowing you to, for example, bring data from a remote source as though it were the first time. It might be nice if there was a way to do this for all tasks in a workflow at once rather than having to do this for each task individually.

              • Add Razor Engine parsing capability to file input lists

e.g. I have a number of files in a workflow referenced using a workflow variable, Directory.Data, as part of the file path, for portability reasons. I can reference these files in most places using @{Context.Workflow("Directory.Data")}\my_file_name.xml but cannot do this when referencing the files in a list (e.g. when performing an XML merge upon them).

                • Save Task view nesting state

When using container tasks to organise a large workflow the entire hierarchy of container tasks & children is expanded when the workflow is opened or run, regardless of the state it was in at last save/prior to running.

Ideally I think container tasks would have an expanded/collapsed element and the state of this view would persist between saves or runs of the workflow.

                  • Generic conditional

Currently if/then conditions are tied to specific task types/scenarios such as If File Exists. A generic if/then/else seems conspicuous by its absence!

One example usage: I have a workflow with many minor tasks that will need to be run hourly, but one section of this workflow (a huge data import) is both resource intensive/time consuming to run and only needs to be run weekly.

I'd like to be able to set a LastRun timestamp in the workflow vars for this task and perform a check on that, running my resource intensive task if it's been longer than a week since…

                    • Add capability to organize multiple workflows in "My Workflows"

In the "My Workflows" pane it's possible to create folders for organisational purposes and drag and drop workflows between them but, as far as I can tell, it isn't possible to move multiple workflows at once. Just had an (admittedly edge-case) scenario where I needed to move dozens of workflows to a new folder, it would be nice to be able to do this en masse rather than one at a time.

                      • Make Sage 200 tasks easily upgradable between versions

I created a workflow integrating Magento with an instance of Sage 200 5.1. When we moved to Sage 200 v7 the workflow stopped working until Chris H edited the Workflow file with a simple find+replace changing references to the v5.1 connector to v7.

Probably an uncommon requirement but for devs moving between versions of 200 or end-users who have upgraded their accounting system a Tools > "Change Sage version for this workflow" option might be a nice to have.
